Kivikukko shelter
Kivikukko is a structure that served as a backup station for train control. The equipment shelter ensured the smooth running of trains during times of crisis. The state railway’s backup stations were built according to the same blueprints in the early 1940s. Kivikukko stations have an above-ground hemispherical section and an underground splinter shelter. There are a couple of small lounges, an air-conditioning room, and a toilet.
